Micro Fiction: The Trolley
As per my Writerly Aspirations, below is my very first (of 52 to come) Micro Fiction of the year. I tried something a little different with this one and experimented with the style quite a bit before I decided I was happy with it.
While I’m not sure it works, I am satisfied with how it turned out and surprised myself by being able to condense a quirky idea down to 500 words (469 to be exact).

So without further ado, please enjoy my latest Micro Fiction.

Hi Errol,
I had to collect the sandwiches for the lunches, and needed to carry them back from the shops.
Cheers,
Anne.

Okay, not sure what’s so hard about carrying sandwiches? When is it going back?

Subject: The Trolley
Good afternoon,
As many of you have noticed, there is a trolley in the kitchen. This is because the managers lunch order came on five separate trays, and in order to avoid squashing the sandwiches, could not be stacked on top of each other.
As I am but one woman (and unfortunately not a witch), I am stuck with the two hands God gave me, and required help getting the five trays back to the office. Thus, the trolley.
I shall return it tomorrow, when I go to the bank. As per Megan’s instruction.
If you cannot abide the trolley where it is, I suggest several options: either return it yourself, take it up with God, or consult your local witch council – whichever you prefer.
Kind regards,
Two-handed Anne.
